Overview
Forkasm ("the app") is a group restaurant decision app developed by Spare Atoms LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
By using Forkasm, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.
Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information when you use Forkasm:

How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect solely to operate and improve Forkasm:
- To create and manage your user account
- To find restaurants near your location using Google Places
- To enable group lobbies and real-time swiping with friends
- To display your personal stats and swipe history
- To send notifications about friend requests, lobby invites, and matches
- To respond to support requests
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
Third Parties
We share data with one third party:

We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to host and operate the app infrastructure. AWS processes data on our behalf as a data processor under our instructions and does not use your data independently. AWS is SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certified.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on AWS infrastructure in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure authentication via industry-standard protocols
- Access controls limiting who can view your data
- Profile photos stored in private S3 buckets
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Correction: Update inaccurate information via the app's Edit Profile screen
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data directly in the app (Profile → Delete Account)
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format by emailing us
- Opt-out: Opt out of marketing emails at any time via Profile → Preferences

Children's Privacy
Forkasm requires users to be at least 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 16, please contact us immediately at admin@spareatoms.com and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify users via the app. Your continued use of Forkasm after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
